Melita Red 2 was inspired by my childhood visits to see my grandparents in Malta. Layers of ink and paint are applied to the back of acrylic glass, giving an illusion of depth when viewed from the smooth unpainted surface. Metallic and iridescent areas within the painting glisten and change appearance as the viewer moves around the piece.
